Khalifast Fashion Design was founded by Christine Fadhili in 2022 as part of Global Innovation Valley’s Applied Global Innovation Program. The enterprise empowers vulnerable single mothers in Kakuma refugee camp by providing hands-on cloth tailoring training. This equips single mothers with skills they need to create their own job opportunities.

Khalifast Fashion Design specializes in transforming recycled plastic waste into sustainable and innovative African cultural clothing, wedding dresses, and accessories like bags, blending environmental responsibility with cultural creativity.

In in 2023, Christine Fadhili was nominated for the founder and fashionpreneur of the year at FOYA Awards, an award that recognizes and appreciates young founders contributing to the development of the African continent while creating sustainable jobs through entrepreneurship and inspiring others to start their own businesses. She emerged second runner-up.
